Seasonal Structure

Seasons are 6-week competitive cycles that provide the framework for all tournaments and progression in Fantasy Top. Each season brings fresh competition, new opportunities, and a reset leaderboard while preserving your collection and long-term progress.

How Seasons Work

A season lasts 6 weeks and consists of multiple weekly Core Competition tournaments, along with parallel Arena events, Prediction Markets, and King of the Hill competitions.

During a season:

  • Weekly 3-day Core Competition tournaments run continuously (Monday 2pm UTC - Thursday 2pm UTC)

  • Arena tournaments run in parallel to Core Competition on the same 3-day schedule

  • King of the Hill runs weekly alongside Core Competition tournaments

  • Prediction Markets are available throughout the season

  • Burn Wars tracks total cards burned across the entire season

  • New Heroes may be introduced to the pool

  • Special events and limited-time competitions are featured

At the end of the 6 weeks, final rankings are established, season rewards are distributed, and a new season begins.

What Happens Between Seasons

What Resets

Leaderboards - Seasonal leaderboards reset to zero. Everyone starts fresh with a clean slate for the new season.

Burn Wars rankings - The card burning leaderboard resets, and top burners from the previous season receive their Fragment rewards.

Weekly tournament standings - Core Competition, Arena, and King of the Hill weekly rankings reset, but your league placement and deck eligibility carry over.

What Stays With You

Your card collection - All Hero cards you own remain in your inventory. Nothing is taken away.

Your Fragments - Fragment balance carries over completely.

Your FAN Points - FAN Points never reset. They accumulate across all seasons permanently.

Your ETH and USDC - All currency balances remain unchanged.

Your league eligibility - You can enter any league your decks qualify for. There's no forced promotion or demotion between seasons.

Your account progression - Everything you've built stays with you.

Season Transitions

Season ends - The final tournament of the season concludes (Thursday at 2:00 PM UTC on the last week).

Final rankings published - Seasonal leaderboards are finalized and rewards are calculated.

Season rewards distributed - ETH, Fragments, and FAN Points are awarded based on final season standings.

New season begins - Typically starts immediately or within a few days. The first tournament of the new season opens for registration.

New features or Heroes - Seasons often introduce new Heroes, game modes, or features to keep things fresh.

Season Numbering

Seasons are numbered sequentially: Season 1, Season 2, Season 3, etc.

Each season may have a theme or special focus, but the core structure remains consistent: 6 weeks of competition with weekly tournaments and continuous game modes.

Planning for a Season

Early season (Weeks 1-2):

  • Meta is still forming

  • Good time to experiment with different Heroes

  • Prices on newly released Heroes are volatile

  • Build your collection for the rest of the season

Mid-season (Weeks 3-4):

  • Meta stabilizes

  • Certain Heroes emerge as top performers

  • Competitive players optimize their lineups

  • Focus on consistency and climbing leaderboards

Late season (Weeks 5-6):

  • Final push for seasonal rankings

  • Prizes are determined by cumulative season performance

  • Less time to experiment, more focus on proven strategies

  • Prepare for the next season's meta shifts

Why Seasons Matter

Seasons give the game rhythm. They're long enough to allow meaningful competition and collection building, but short enough to keep things fresh and allow for meta shifts.

Seasons reward consistency. Players who show up every week and perform well across multiple tournaments earn more than those who have one good week and disappear.

Seasons create fresh starts. Even if you had a rough previous season, the leaderboard reset gives you a clean slate to prove yourself.

Seasons drive the meta. New Heroes, balance changes, and community trends emerge each season, keeping the game from becoming stale.
